STELLAR Sends Senior Consultants to IEDC

Highly respected Economic Development consultant Don Holbrook will be in attendance representing STELLAR Fundraising at IEDC.  Don is the author of The Little Black Book of Economic Development and is widely considered one of the foremost authorities on local economy building.

Mr. Holbrook will be joined by two other STELLAR Officers.

As in previous years, our team of consultants will be on hand to offer guidance to Economic Development organizations on their short and/or long term fundraising plans.

If you would like to set up a time to meet with one of our consultants during IEDC, please call our office at 904-270-0153 and ask for Cat or email her at cat@stellarfundraising.com, include on the subject line “IEDC Appointments”.

Please reserve your meeting time as soon as possible.  Last year we ran out of available meeting times and had to turn a few people away.

We look forward to seeing everyone at IEDC.

STELLAR Looking for Research Partners

As most of you know, STELLAR conducts ongoing research on Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Fundraising models and processes in an effort to continually increase the effectiveness of such efforts.

STELLAR is undertaking a new set of analytic research projects focused on several key areas of the fundraising process.  This research will be focused on the following questions:

  • What is the short and long term effect of different general fundraising models?
  • How much internal time (employee time) does it take for different general fundraising models to be administered?
  • What is the true short and long term expense of different general fundraising models?
  • Is there a consistent correlation between community size and the success of specific fundraising efforts?

River Heritage Museum Chooses STELLAR

River Heritage Museum in Paducah Kentucky has chosen STELLAR Fundraising to conduct a feasibility study for their upcoming three-phase facility expansion project.

Nicknamed ‘The Capital of the Inland Waterways’, Paducah Kentucky is located at the convergence of the Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland, and Tennessee Rivers.  The River Heritage Museums is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of these rivers.

The River Heritage Museum is located in the oldest antebellum building in Paducah’s historic downtown.  Originally built in 1843, the building still exhibits many of its original structures including parapet end walls, original molded lintels, and other Greek Revival Style features.

The River Heritage Museum campaign is focused on funding facility expansion as well as providing some ongoing funds for facility sustainability.

In an interview with River Heritage Executive Director Julie Harris, she stated, “We are excited about working with STELLAR Fundraising.  STELLAR has extensive experience with fundraising campaigns in the Paducah area.  Their knowledge of the area business climate will serve as a valuable asset to our campaigns ultimate success”
