New friends
This month we've taken the liberty of sending the
FUNDamentals
newsletter to an expanded list of
STELLAR friends and associates, to give
everyone a chance to see what we've been up to. We think you'll find it
useful, though we would appreciate any comments or suggestion that you'd
care to offer.
Of course, if you'd rather not receive future copies of
FUNDamentals, just
click on the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of this page.
Thanks.
Albany kicks off!
The public got a glimpse of what Albany (GA) could be in 2010 when the
Albany Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off its new $2.05 million
Imagine Albany 2010 Initiative during the Salute to Small Business
breakfast earlier this month at the Albany Civic Center.
The four-year Imagine Albany 2010 campaign is designed to create
4,000 new jobs, resulting in $95 million in new wages for Albany and the
Dougherty County area, said Tim Martin, chamber president and CEO.

STELLAR innovates
STELLAR
brings something new to the Albany effort with a first-ever example of web based
campaign marketing. See this innovative
approach to campaign management by clicking the
Imagine Albany 2010 logo, then
let us know if this new approach makes sense for your organization.
Watch out for 'the event trap'
Keeping an organization's programs relevant to the
community, as well as to the long-term health of the budget, is a constant
challenge for some.
STELLAR
treats the matter in an interesting article entitled
Program Relevancy to Achieve Greater Success. Organizational
executives looking for more program relevance can click

A strong team gets stronger
There's another new name and face on the
STELLAR roster
this month, as David Madigan joins the team. Dave brings a unique
blend of public and private sector experience to the field
of community and economic development fundraising, with extensive campaign
experience in communities across the country.
Dave will lead the
STELLAR
team in a feasibility study and subsequent fundraising campaign for the
Surry County (NC)
Economic Development Partnership.
Don't get left out of next year's budget!
Fall is the ideal time to do a fundraising feasibility
study, since local corporations are finalizing next years giving budgets
at about this time. A fall study allows
STELLAR clients to
get on the radar for next years budget, preventing the objection "our
budget is set for this year, perhaps we can give next year".
Savvy clients are launching studies now.
