A New Look!

Useful information in an easy to read format. That was our aim when we set about redesigning the STELLAR FUNDamentals newsletter and the STELLAR web site. We think that we've met that goal, but we'd like to know what you think. Feel free to send us your comments.

Conference Appearance

The STELLAR Team, led by President & CEO Terry J. Cusack, will direct a panel discussion on Economic Development Strategy, Design, Program Return-On-Investment and Fundraising, at the Competitiveness Conference of the Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC). Cusack will be joined by STELLAR officers Jack B. Allston, CEcD, FM, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Economic Development Division and Tom Ralser, President, Capital Strategists Group, A STELLAR Strategic Partner.

The conference is held in downtown Chicago each December, and focuses on the unique issues facing MAEDC's ten-state region, from "Business Retention as a Strategy" to "Rural Community Success Stories", topics that are on the mind of every economic developers.

Attendees are provided opportunities to meet with the nation's top developers and site selectors while gaining insight on business attraction.

The 2003 Conference will be held at the Swissôtel in Chicago, IL. The dates are December 7-9, 2003. For Reservations - Call 312-565-0565; $161.00/Single and Double. Additional information will be posted on the MAEDC website as it becomes available.

As further recognition of their expertise on these subjects, Cusack and his STELLAR Team were also recently invited to give a presentation on private sector funding of economic and community development initiatives before a standing room only meeting of the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) as well as the Professional Developers of Iowa (PDI).

Also look for STELLAR at ACCE, IEDC and other regional and state conferences.

New STELLAR Web Site

The STELLAR Fundraising Executives web site took on a new look the month. The new site takes a more colorful and easily navigated approach to the telling of the STELLAR story. Take a look!

A Guest Perspective

Recently, I was invited to speak to members of the Mid-America Economic Development Council at their Great Lakes Chapter meeting.
